Palestinian Army of Islam

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Palestinian Army of Islam is a Palestinian militant group.

In June, 2006, an Israeli Defense Forces soldier, Gilad Shalit, was captured during an attack on an Israeli military outpost by a number of Palestinian militants. It was reported in the media that the attack was carried out by a coalition of different groups, one of which included the previously unknown group calling itself the Army of Islam [1]. Abu Muthana is a spokesman for this group.
