Palacio Barolo

Palacio Barolo is an office building, located on Avenida de Mayo in Monserrat, located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was the tallest building of the city when it was built, and also in South America. This building has a twin brother, but tallest, built by in Montevthe same architect ideo, el Palacio Salvo. The Italian Architect Mario Palanti built this palace asked by textile entrepreneur Luis Barolo. Between 1923, inauguration day, and 1935, it was the tallest in the city, replaced later by Kavanagh. It has the altitude of an 24th floor.
His owner planned using only 3 floors, and to rent the rest. Today it is an office building. It has a lamp with 3000 bujias, in working conditions. It has also many references to the Divine Comedy, motivated by the admiration of its architect by Alighieri.
In 1997 this building was declared historic monument of Argentina. [1]
