The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (Urdu: پاکستان تحريک انصاف) (Pakistan Movement for Justice) is a political party in Pakistan. At the last legislative elections, 20 October 2002, the party won 0.8% of the popular vote and 1 out of 272 elected members. PTI has also a seat in provincial assembly of NWFP. PTI is headed by Cricket legend Imran Khan. "Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem" is the slogan of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Imran Khan, the chairman of the party is also the Chancellor of the University of Bradford, England. He has masters degrees in Political Science, Economics and Philosophy. He has recently put forward a solution for Pakistan's issues related to its system. His solution has three points:

  1. Independent Election Commission
  2. Independent Judiciary
  3. Independent accontability bureau

The party is working for the implementation of this solution. PTI is playing its role as an opposition party. It has its major influence in Pakistan's middle class. One of it's current ambitions is to send back the Army to barracks.

To establish a just society based on humane values while continuously upholding the self-esteem of the nation. The PTI will restore the sovereign and inalienable right of the people to choose political and economic options in accordance with our social, cultural, and religious values. We are broad-based movement for change whose mission is to create a free society based on justice. We know that national renewal is only possible if people are truly free.

PTI leadership approaches the people with sincerity and a sense of history and pledges to commitment to:

  • Freedom from Political, Economic and Mental Slavery - A self reliant modern Islamic Republic
  • Freedom from Injustice - Inexpensive and quick dispensation of justice
  • Freedom from Poverty - 50 percent increase in per capita income in 5 years
  • Freedom from Unemployment - Two million new jobs every year
  • Freedom from Homelessness - 2 lac new housing units every year and complete ownership right to millions living in Katchi Abadis
  • Freedom from Illiteracy - Full literacy by 2010
  • Freedom to Generate Wealth - Abolition of personal income tax
  • Freedom from Fear - Complete Freedom of thought and expression
  • Freedom for Women - Free education up to Matric for girls from poor households
  • Equal right for minorities - no religious discrimination
