- List of atheists - In need of a few people who would like to discuss and take serious steps to restructure/rewrite the page. I think the page can serve and encyclaopedic purpose, but not in its current form. See my comments at the bottom of the talk page for what I think needs to be done. --Comics 04:04, 11 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- Laava — This page doesn't explain what Laava is. It just provides a quote that is seemingly a non-sequitur. The page Guru Ram Das (which links to Laava) provides some information about it, but it's vague. This article needs attention from someone who knows about Sikhism. Jbinder 19:01, 8 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- Tarika — I have been trying to get some input via the talk page. As I said on that page This needs work. Only one very narrow meaning of the word is addressed--and it's not even the commonest one. The page gives the impression that the Muslim Brotherhood and traditional turuq have commonalities in ideology or organization. Which, IMHO, is exactly opposite to reality.—iFaqeer (Talk to me!) 00:38, Dec 17, 2004 (UTC)
- Militant Islam — topmatter is a discussion of past editing controversies and a vfd. is this an active article or not? if so, that discussion belongs in Talk, not at the top of the article. I don't know the history, so I am listing it here to draw the attention of somebody who does. Wolfman 19:26, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Religious Imperialism - Just kind of a mess. -- Dcfleck 04:02, 2005 Apr 15 (UTC)
- Jehovah's Witnesses: Controversial Issues - Article is a mess. Duplicates content from other sources, forked off of Jehovah's Witnesses for various sections. Article is written in POV style. joshbuddy 22:05, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
- Zoroastrianism - needs a workover, in particular with respect to history: only really describing the religion as it is now, when it had substantial evolution over its long history: it was originally Mazdaen, then it went through a phase (during the late Achaemenid era) where it was fairly polytheistic, and a later phase (during the Sassanid era) had a predominant cult in which Ahura Mazda was not the prime god, but one of the two lesser aspects of the prime god - see Zurvanism. Present-day Zoroastrianism is Mazdaen again. -- Fullstop 08:53, 3 August 2006 (UTC) (comment copied from Wikipedia:WikiProject History)
Cosmogony
- Genesis - makes no mention of the very common belief that the Bible is divinely inspired and infallible --Smack 17:36, 20 May 2004 (UTC) So what? Reformatikos 02:01, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC) If this belief is mentioned it should definatly be presented as a belief, not fact, I would question that it is a 'very common' belief as, although Christianity is a major religion it is out-numbered by all other religions and atheism (of all types) combined, therefore most people would not believe in its infallibility or that it was divinely inspired. Fairywings 14:29, August 11, 2005 (UTC)
Deities
- Osiris-Dionysus - this article is seriously lacking in content (given the potential that it has) or wikipedia like appearance CheeseDreams 03:52, 6 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Marduk - contains both some wiki-authored content and a 1911 article. -Smack 06:42, 11 Dec 2003 (UTC)
Eschatology
- Islamic eschatology -- I know that houris and sex aren't the be-all and end-all of this, but I don't know much more than that. The article needs much more about Islamic ideas of personal eschatology (death, judgement, reward, punishment) and general eschatology (ad-Dajjal, the end of the world, etc.) from someone with some knowledge of this topic. --MIRV 22:08, 6 Jan 2004 (UTC)
Holidays
- Kwanzaa needs serious help. It includes much irrelevant information about the holiday's inventor, and it appears to be written by someone with an axe to grind. The person doing it has added all the attacks back after a few reverts and warnings by myself and others. The same person came in here and removed an earlier notice that this page needs help. It probably needs protecting or patrolling. DreamGuy 01:26, Dec 18, 2004 (UTC)
- Latin Rite this is a huge field, and should have a correspondingly exhaustive article. it's a stub right now. A lot of out-of-coyright material could be included, e.g. the Catholic Encyclopedia: [1] [2]. dab (ᛏ) 08:40, 23 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- On this area could someone please lopk at Abraham in the Catholic Liturgy. It's from the Catholic Encyclopedia and it needs the attention of someone a bit more liturgical than I am. --JASpencer 13:04, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
Magick
- Goetic magick seems mostly written from the perspective of a person who accepts the Magick belief system. Needs to be more neutral. RJH 21:12, 25 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Angel Hair - I don't know if this is the right section for this one; probably not, but I can't find a better. Can someone familiar with New Age-y / Spiritualism stuff expand this article (or at least indicate this isn't just one person's imagination at work)? --Dcfleck 18:24, 2005 Jun 12 (UTC)
Mysticism
- Asana -- needs npov by someone who knows about yoga etc. rhyax 18:39, 2 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Seven stages - marvelously obscure description of the stages of yogic progress. --Smack 05:59, 12 May 2004 (UTC)
- Tattva#Symbols_and_Colours and Tattva_vision#Tattva_Vision contain non-neutral text. The later in particular is basically a how-to guide, and appears very non-encyclopedic, non-neutral. Thanks. — RJH 19:12, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
Mythology See also: mythology stubs
- Acantha - A year-old comment in the talk page suggests that it's actually on two different myths that have been mixed together inappropriately, but I don't have any reference material handy to check and correct this. Bryan 03:01, 23 May 2005 (UTC)
- Inca mythology There is a great deal of confusion about the facts in this article, and it looks terrible. Loads of red links which need articles written, and no particularly expert editor is involved. - Orochi - a monster featured in both Japanese folklore and pop culture. Currently focuses almost entirely on its appearance in one rather obscure video game ~ FriedMilk 01:50, Sep 19, 2004 (UTC)
-
- listed another appearance in another video game ~ thespider, Nov 29, 2004
- Perun - the article needs rewriting almost from scratch. The text was copied from a (probably) Polish source and translated poorly. --Gene s 13:33, 9 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- apparently "the highest god of the Slavic pantheon" -- middle paragraphs especially are in poor shape, but I can't make much sense of them without a better background in Slavic mythology. Triskaideka 15:26, 20 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- Polish mythology - Article should be partially merged with Slavic mythology, but first it needs to be revised by some specialist. There are lots of typos (both in the titles of the articles and in their content) and several of the linked phenomena seem forged or simply improbable. [[User:Halibutt|Halibutt]] 21:53, Sep 8, 2004 (UTC)
- Perperuna -- Wikipedians who understand Slavic languages and are knowledgeable in Slavic mythology are invited to sort out the "text" now in Talk:Perperuna. -- PFHLai 01:27, 2004 Aug 24 (UTC)
- I guess there's a lot to say about white horses in mythology, and that page would be the place to do so. |l'KF'l| 11:11, Aug 18, 2004 (UTC)
- Japanese mythology. From a brief glance it seems to be reasonably well written, but certain sections are empty, and it badly needs wikification. Possibly it needs copyediting. I am also uncertain if the names should be italicized. DocWatson42 06:07, 14 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Geri and Freki - very little information. --Eequor 10:13, 26 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- Slavic fairies - the article includes several older semi-stubs and needs sorting out the nymphs from the ghosts from whatever by someone who knows Slavic mythology. The title may be improper too. --Shallot 11:41, 5 Jun 2004 (UTC)
- Irish mythology - really just a set of lists of wikis to other articles. Bmills 11:28, 4 Dec 2003 (UTC)
- Korean mythology: contains stuffs from a famous apocryphal book that was cooked up in the 20th century and is believed by cult religions. --Nanshu 00:58, 30 Nov 2003 (UTC)
- !Kung mythology - Please add more myths and detail; also improve prose. fascinating. cf. List of deities
- Virgin birth - Is this a list of people who were supposedly born via virgin birth or of virgins who supposedly gave birth? I am unsure it seems a little mixed up.
Organizations
- Grand College of Rites - I know Freemasonry isn't technically a religion, but I couldn't find a better section to ask for help on a fraternal organization. Anyway, this article is in need of POV rewriting as well as grammar and wikifying. I don't know enough about the subject to do it successfully. --Darkwind 01:25, Feb 20, 2005 (UTC)
- Chinese Catholic Association - is this the same thing as Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association? --Spoon! 01:35, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- Voice of the Martyrs: usefule article, but somewhat POV-ish. --Khym Chanur 11:38, Nov 4, 2003 (UTC)
-
- I've gone over it a couple of times, mostly for typos. An article of this nature probably can't help appearing somewhat POV. Any specific suggestions? - Rlvaughn 20:23, 29 Nov 2003 (UTC)
-
- I've re-worded it slightly to make it sound more objective, without changing its meanings. - Miles 6:12, 18 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Rumtek - a Buddhist monastery in Sikkim, India. Some more information and a good picture would be more than welcome. AndyBrandt 21:22, 24 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Friends of the Western Buddhist Order reads mostly like a publicity handout. Lumos3 20:31, 1 Jul 2004 (UTC)
People
- Muhammad ibn Abd al Wahhab is in absolutely horrible condition. The article needs to have all facts verified, be completely re-written, or even outright deleted. The article, about the founder of Wahhabism\Salifism, has been taken over by Muslims who were clearly preaching on Wikipedia, not writing for an encyclopedia. 69.138.24.96 19:50, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
- Charles Darwin's views on religion had an attention tag, now removed as the article's more developed...dave souza 15:48, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Historicity of Jesus in horrible shape, needs merged, strained for scraps of quality. Sam [Spade] 01:15, 8 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Sources about Jesus Similar problem, same editors. Sam [Spade] 01:12, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
-
- I dispute the above. I think Mpolo did a great job with the article, and that Sam has listed it here for POV reasons. CheeseDreams 10:54, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Joseph de Maistre - needs wikification RedWolf 06:04, Mar 28, 2004 (UTC)
- Now edited, wikified. Still could use verification of translations of titles of works. --Jmabel 05:22, 10 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- Melchizedek- Contains a very large section solely on one historians reconstruction of Melchizedek as a highway robber without much exoplanation of reasons and in need of general wikification too
- Ahmad Raza is in need of serious cleanup and NPOV. The main problem is the abundance of Arabic words, most tranlisterated in what seems like non-standard way. JoaoRicardo 04:57, 13 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Religions
- Radha Soami - needs to be organized and expanded by someone who knows what this is all about -- Anodyne 18:25, 24 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Nasir al-Din Nasir Hunzai - 202.163.115.34 has added a lot of new information but in a stilted style which suggests that English is not their first language, and with some POV phrases. -- Chris Q 12:44, 2005 Jun 20 (UTC)
- Ascetic - this badly need expansion - a VERY impotant topic in early Christianity and may well be in other religions (I don't know). It deserves far more --Doc Glasgow 10:56, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Animism - very POV; needs much work. ‣ᓛᖁᑐ 04:39, 29 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Women In Hinduism. I'm really not sure what to do with this. It is decidedly one-sided, and I don't know how to make it more neutral. There haven't been any substantial changes in over a month, since the article was first written. I feel it is an important topic, so I hesitate to nominate it on VFD. If no one is able to help fix it, perhaps it can be merged and redirected to Hinduism. There, the author or others can expand it, while those who watch that article can help it achieve neutrality; if it grows large enough, it can be moved to a separate article. Perhaps. — Knowledge Seeker দ (talk) 10:16, 28 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is written in a very POV way. IbnRushd 19:15, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Free Church of England needs expansion. Katefan0 01:35, Nov 15, 2004 (UTC)
- Linji, Rinzai, and Rinzai school may need more community involvement. --[[User:Eequor|ηυωρ]] 11:20, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Primitive Methodism Reads like a term paper, has sources sprinkled throughout referenced only by last name, needs wikifying and major editing for style and lots of tightening. I took a crack at the top half but my eyes are glazing over. Katefan0 23:12, 12 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Atheism a month of debate has gone nowhere, badly in need of impartial, NPOV editors. Sam [Spade] 20:52, 8 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Islam around the world - This seems redundant, as the information is reproduced in Islam#Islam_around_the_world --StoatBringer 23:48, 12 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Mennonite had a huge, unwikified section added recently by an anon. It needs to be fact-checked and integrated with the article. Rhobite 19:57, Aug 4, 2004 (UTC)
- Witchcraft An unholy mess of merged articles which need resolving and putting under correct and discrete headings with the article in question then being rewritten top to bottom. Sjc 04:39, 14 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- civic religion - I find much of the content implausible. That all "civic religions" are atheistic, that they exist only under dicatorships, that they are necessarily dogmatic. I thought the term referred to ritual displays of patriotism of the sort practiced in all countries, such as crowds singing the national anthem on certain occasions, displaying the flag on patriotic holidays, etc. See Talk:civic religion for more. Warning': not to be confused with civil religion. Michael Hardy 02:09, 14 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- Sharia has some pov statements and many parts that could be reworded for clarity, particularly the "practice of sharia" section. --Rhobite 04:32, Jul 4, 2004 (UTC)
- Heathenry - nothing much about the religion itself, just some semantic points regarding the derivation of the name. Should this maybe be combined with Asatru? Kwertii 10:39, 12 Jan 2004 (UTC)
- No. A may equal B but not all B are A. Be wary of merging articles. Invariably someone has to demerge them. Sjc 04:39, 14 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- I've done a full rewrite, but it badly needs a bit more attention. SetarconeX
- I've just re-instituted it. As Sjc said about, not all B are A. And quite a few things link to it - the automatic redirect to Paganism was decidedly misleading. I can do some more on it later, including more refs, and it needs to more but as a religion Heathenry is not same as 'Paganism' (which is in itself many things - see book 'researching Paganisms') :) . Seidkona 15:56, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
- Upanishad - needs ugly formatting and the diacrita in the main upanishads section fixed. --Finlay McWalter 01:31, 12 Nov 2003 (UTC)
- I did a bit of work on the formatting, but the "List of Upanishads" is still fugly, and I'm not knowledgable enough of the topic—or HTML—to fix it.. DocWatson42 08:59, 16 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Chungdo needs to be NPOV'd and made suitable for Wikipedia. --Ce garcon 19:13, 21 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Tahuantinsuyu, Religion the page was excised from the Inca Empire page and is quite scattershot. It has a very incomplete description of their extensive calendering system and has no connection with the Inca mythology page upon which this religion was presumably based. --Zenyu 20:12, Dec 7, 2004 (UTC)
- The Summit Lighthouse - Someone else marked this as needing attention on 6 Jan, 2005, but I can't find anything in this section about it. Seems to have significant POV issues. --Ahc 05:41, 25 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- Christian ecumenism - Reads more like pro-Catholic propaganda than a fair and balanced approach. The Protestant section alone is filled with excessive rhetoric that really doesn't describe any facts, only basically says "Protestantism is irrelevant". Incredibly offensive, poorly written. I'm almost tempted to list it as a vote for deletion. Kade 05:56, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Jeung San Do - a Korean spiritual movement. Needs NPOV work and background filled in for that article and related articles including Dojeon, Gaebyeok, Cosmic year. CDC (talk) 17:32, 5 May 2005 (UTC)
- Council of Jerusalem this article needs an unbiased person to define the FACTS of the Council of Jerusalem from Acts 15. 00:56, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)~
- Ishta-devatha any hindus want to tackle this one?--Gaff talk 18:38, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
Religious persecution
- hieros gamos, religious prostitution - these need TLC from somebody who has familiarity with transgender issues and religious persecution of such by Christianity, particularly with regard to slander of other religions. --Eequor 16:19, 19 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Persecution of Muslims - some people are working on it, but it needs help. Kingturtle 23:33, 19 Nov 2003 (UTC)
Ritual
- Handfasting - Article is lacking in content. Signifigance of symbolism not explained. --Morningstar2651 17:40, Apr 12, 2005 (UTC)
- Rain dance - Article is more about the computer jargon term than the original ritual. - Skysmith 10:35, 7 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Saints
- Saint Vasilije is saintly POV, does not have a single wikilink, has "example images" and possibly copyvio.--leandros 21:55, 4 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Sant Thakar Singh needs loads of wikifying (especially the references) and looks to me to have huge POV issues. A lot of it would probably sit better at Sant Mat, it appears, but lots of the rest seem just too opinion-based. --Kwekubo 01:15, 14 September 2005 (UTC)
Spirituality
- Akashic Records - Rewrite necessary. --Schnee 20:05, 15 Sep 2003 (UTC)
- Wikified and formatted a little better.
Content seems relatively clear to me, but someone recently commented on the discussion page that it was not. Comments on the content? If necessary, I'll try to clarify, but I need guidance on what exactly needs to be clarified.Spectatrix 01:16, 2004 Jul 30 (UTC) - Upon further review, I concur that the content needs to be revamped, which I plan to do. Specific suggestions are still welcome, though. Spectatrix 03:20, 2004 Jul 30 (UTC)
- Wikified and formatted a little better.
- Logosophy -- is this "spirituality"? No offense, but to me it reads like complete twaddle -- sort of pop "psychology" (unrelated to real psychology) cum self-help cum mysticism. (It's claimed to be "science", which it certainly is not.) I realize that I have a minuscule appetite for this kind of thing, and therefore pass it to others who can't be less sympathetic than I. -- Hoary 03:20, 2005 Jan 26 (UTC)
Terminology
- Catholic reads like a term paper. Did some work on format today, but there's several times a "Denziger" given a source with no information what book that refers to; I added a guess at the end of the text, but verification would be good. Also, sometimes I found it hard to determine where a quote actually ended. That also would require access to aforementioned unknown book. -- AlexR 12:05, 21 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Varnas is a concept from Hinduism, but this article is very hard to understand and needs going over, probably some wiki-ing as well. Meelar 05:05, 28 May 2004 (UTC)
- I did some wikification to give better clarity to the article.Jam2k 19:57, May 30, 2004 (UTC)
- High Priest -- This redirect is correct in the Judaic sense, but not the Pagan/Wiccan sense. --Spikey 02:39, 18 May 2004 (UTC)
- Divine is a stub that could use a good broad survey of the concept incorporating different religious views. Alcarillo 04:22, 8 May 2004 (UTC)
- Goddess - Article is almost entirely about modern Goddess worship. Very short on historical goddessess. Rmhermen 23:23, May 1, 2004 (UTC)
- Pentecost -- Re: Meaning of "Whit": Addition by an anon editor [5] contradits the first paragraph of the page. Needs expert help to decide which one is correct. -- PFHLai 00:30, 2005 September 8 (UTC)
Theology
- Apostolic Fathers I think this has a lot of POV issues, and it just doesn't seem very informative to me. It is loaded with information, yes, but I am not really understanding it, and it seems like a Wikipedia article should be comprehensible to the lay person. There seem to be a number of conflicting viewpoints here, but I don't really know the details.Blacklite 08:07, 23 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Concupiscence -- This article really needs review by a theologically educated Catholic, and a theologically educated Protestant. It could also do with a broader range of sources, some concrete examples, and information on the views of the Eastern Orthodox. rhyax 18:36, 1 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- I just finished refactoring Apocrypha, which was something of a mess. I'm not sure it's factually accurate anymore, or really that it was to begin with. I also noticed that there are many related articles which contain a lot of the same information. In particular, there are several comparison charts between different Biblical canons. Someone needs to give each chunk of content a "home" article, and make sure that other articles contain only terse summaries of this contents, with links to the "home" article. Someone more familiar with the subject should check Apocrypha (and probably related articles, especially after any re-factoring) for historical and theological accuracy. The related articles include: Books of the Bible, Biblical canon, Bible, Bible and Tanakh, Septuagint, Old Testament, New Testament, and probably many others. This larger project may be worthy of a Bible-related Wikiproject, if someone wants to start one. I'm surprised one doesn't exist already. -- Beland 06:04, 4 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- I created the Wikiproject, and we are presently discussing strategy of how to respect both Christian and Jewish sensibilities. Input is welcome.—Mpolo 08:35, Sep 16, 2004 (UTC)
- The Bible in Islam serious NPOV problems here. Seems like it was written by Ali-Sina or someone from an anti-islam propaganda/agitation group many verses being quoted into fabricated contexts. Might be best for someone to re-write it.
- IMO, this article looks much better now, but it still needs some modern scholarship. RK 22:09, Nov 16, 2003 (UTC)
- Atomism - a total train wreck. horrible grammar, non-sequitur images with nonsense captions, possible inaccurate information, etc. article satrts out ok then quickly devolves into incoherent philosopical rambling, and an evolution/creationism debate. --Deglr6328 03:04, 8 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- Note: This article has been listed under chemistry for a while now. While atom is usually associated with chemistry, I think you folks under philosophy and theology will better know how to deal with this.
- Dominionism - recently completely rewritten "for NPOV", but it looks to me like the two versions need to be reconciled by someone who knows this movement in some detail. Contrast this and this. --FOo 05:56, 27 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- Authentic Matthew - It's possible that this should be merged with Gospel of the Hebrews, but I'm not sure what in these two articles is original research, and what isn't, because I don't know anything about this. Authentic Matthew also needs wikifying.. CDC (talk) 05:16, 10 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- Council of Jerusalem this article needs an unbiased person to define the FACTS of the Council of Jerusalem from Acts 15. 00:59, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Gender roles in Islam - I was advissed to bring this here: The article as is stands, with the exception of the first paragraph (Background) to which I helped, is almost entriely original research. The Source given to back up statements in fact state the opposite. For example the source given to back up the statement: "Obviously this is a vision of Heaven that is more likely to appeal to men. Eternally virgin dark-eyed Houris are unlikely to appeal to many women" actually says "The life of women in Jannah will be as pleasant and happy as the life of men. Allah is not partial to any gender. He created both of them and He will take care of both of them according to their needs and desires. Let us all work to achieve the Jannah and then, in sha’ Allah, we will find there what will satisfy all of us fully." - It needs to be severly NPOVed to boot. It ignores the "Science of hadith" and selectively picks Hadees that suits the cause, ignores the isnad and context, and suggests that that is all the source that is needed. Help Needed here badly! --Irishpunktom\talk 16:18, August 30, 2005 (UTC)
Religious history
- Declaration of the Clergy of France - Every sentence in the article is nonsense. The article was created two weeks ago by an anon. This is a real topic, and it needs a real article, not an article that's a joke.--Bcrowell 02:44, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
- Lutheranism - Section on Modern Lutheranism in Europe needs clarifying, as the author was apparently more adept at some language other than English. Especially the first three sentences of the third paragraph, beginning 'Notably, the European churches have'. I can not understand 'offices', 'parts of them', 'decisive', 'perennial', 'to the lot of conference'. Chris the speller 17:08, 31 October 2005 (UTC)
- Elizabeth Clare Prophet - Serious POV against the subject, many uncited declarations that need cites PotatoKnight 06:05, 29 October 2005 (UTC)
- Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church - it's not really NPOV in its historical presentation, clearly written by the church supporters/members. It rather downplays Ukraine's traditional Orthodox status and overemphasizes the differences with Russia.
