Pagaruyung Palace
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pagaruyung Palace (Indonesian: Istana Pagaruyung) is located near the town of Batusangkar, West Sumatra. The original building was built by the Minangkabau kingdom founded by Adityawarman in the 14th century, but it was destroyed by fire in 1976. A replica of the palace has since been built in its place and it is now a museum and tourist attraction. The palace is built in the traditional Minangkabau Rumah Gadang architectural style, but one unusual aspect is that it has three levels.
