[edit] Video about suffrage
Give it a rest on the video, kids. It's not even that funny, and I for one am sick of hearing about it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.125.146.36 (talk • contribs) 04:17, 4 April 2006.
- That doesn't warrant removing the information. Please don't do it without a good reason. --58.104.56.177 05:28, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
Mr. Schrandt seems to think that continuing to include something which embarrasses this high school is newsworthy. Mr. Schrandt: consider this entry which lauds your accomplishments --http://www.salesianum.org/whatsNew/articles/academicDebate.cgi "Live Jesus" means letting people have their dignity, including girls. "gentleman" means letting it go. I'm glad you had your fun, but leave these girls in peace. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.142.49.230 (talk • contribs) 04:14, 11 April 2006.
- Kudos on your stalking skills. I think that this is an encyclopedia and continuing to include something which is newsworthy but might embarrass a high school is more than justified. The majority of my female friends are from Padua, I started the article on Padua, my sister is going to Padua, I hold nothing against Padua – this video made them famous and now it’s a part of their history. Dignity also means accepting reality and improving upon it not hoping it will go away. This issue is national now, it is what Padua will be associated for years to come and it deserves to be here – if you want to change the wording to something you feel is more appropriate that’s cool, but never the less it should be mentioned in the article. Threaten me again and I’ll see you are banned from this site. - Schrandit 07:02, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

- How about you research something about Padua Academy and Salesianum School that people don't know. In this era of the Catholic Church losing membership, you are inadvertantly helping to make a mockery of that which you profess to embody. Perhaps after a few years in the real world you will come to a broader perspective on the issue. Good for you for being bold, but choose wisely that which you attach your name. You have a good energy so use it in a proactive way. REPRESENT SALESIANUM. Don't give the public any reason to chip away at a the school which has been MY HOME since 1962. Nobody is harassing you. By the way, this video is not even a blip on the map of fame. Famous is Ghandi, Lennon, Dylan, Osama Bin Laden. Since the majority of your female friends are high school girls and you seem to be proud of the fact that you interact with young minds born after 1988 remember that there are others who want to protect their interests more than you can possibly comprehend in your current stage in life. Please grow. St. Francis de Sales pray for us. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.36.230.171 (talk • contribs) 08:37, 11 April 2006.

- What are you talking about? Your name is Brian Figarol, Salesianum hasn’t been your home since 1962 because you weren’t born yet in 1962. This isn’t your only wikipedia account, this isn’t information which people have a ridiculous intrest in protecting it’s an editable page on the internet. I wouldn’t have attached my name if I wasn’t ready to defend my work (unlike yourself) and I’ll have you know the Catholic Church has picked up 290 million members in the last 20 years. - Schrandit 20:07, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

ok you want to post my name and make it personal? We can do that. As far as telling mushroom that you feel harassed, well I did not and will not. I don't understand your anger and you don't understand my history with the school. I wish you well. If you think I was the guy who said you would be reported, that was not me. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.134.123.2 (talk • contribs).
I have re-added the info about the video since it seems notable enough and it's properly referenced. Change the wording if you don't like it but please don't remove it altogether. Mushroom (Talk) 10:10, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
To the anon, last editing under 66.134.123.2, other people clearly disagree with your deletions. Please discuss your rationale on this talk page, rather than trying to repeatedly remove it, as that course of action will not succeed. Your reason, as I understand it so far (from what is written above), is your desire to protect the reputation of the school and the Catholic Church. Please clarify, as this is not regarded as a valid justification on Wikipedia for your deletion. --Chan-Ho (Talk) 03:03, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
You surmise my reasoning well. Deletions cease. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.36.230.171 (talk • contribs).
While the newspaper link remains in tact, the video link has been removed for several reasons. Unless every video put on the various internet sites is going to be incorporated into every wikipedia entry about its subject matter, this practice shouldn't be limited to the Padua entry. The video is a sophomoric prank. Permitting this video to be included in this entry opens up the likelihood that many other prank videos will be included in the high school entries, as well as the political entries, or any other entries that generate rivalry or tension. The video depicts students under the age of 18 who have not signed any documents agreeing to have their images depicted on an national or international forum. While internet laws are certainly unclear, hopefully wikipedia has some decency rules which would not violate the rights of minors. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 167.21.3.6 (talk • contribs).
It seems clear to me that the majority do not want this video linked to this page. Wiki tends to side with the majority and the only people who think this belongs here are low lifes who have nothing better to do than perpetuate this crap. Quit being losers. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.229.146.25 (talk • contribs).
- I noticed that this dispute is currently the subject of a new informal mediation, but I think a Request for Comment from outside third parties might help resolve this issue. BrownHornet21 02:15, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Mediation request
Hi, I am not the official mediator, but I will try to help. You may wish to appeal to a broader community for input by asking at the Village pump, posting a Wikiquette alert, or filing a Request for Comment.. --Ideogram 17:11, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] May I suggest...
It's a bit hard to figure out exactly how many people are involved in this issue and how many are not. It would be a bit more helpful if the IP users would register an account so we can get this dispute resolved in an expedient manner. CQJ 18:00, 25 July 2006 (UTC) And by the way, IMHO, the video's pretty dumb and it's a rip-off of a bit that the Man Show did a few years back. I'd say it's notable on the basis that it got a lot of attention, but I feel that the fact it was a ripoff of a Man Show bit be mentioned, in addition, I'm not quite sure that a link to the video itself can be included here, wouldn't that be WP:OR? Linking the news story is within WP:V, but I'm not sure to what extent YouTube can legitimately be included here. Perhaps this can be the basis of a compromise...CQJ 18:10, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Mediation active?
Is this dispute still active? --Ideogram 02:05, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
