[edit] Major Reorganization
I have classified the individual networks as: Early, X.25 or Internet Era. Perhaps some networks such as SCANNET belong in an OSI section. Within a section I have put the network names in alphabetical order. I believe the Early Networks list is complete but some networks are present in name only as I know nothing about them. I have incorporated specific network references in the relevant section rather than relegating them to the end. This might violate Wikipedia style guidelines.
My knowledge of the X25 and Internet eras is weak. Rdmoore6 20:21, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] X.25 Era
There a large number of not very interesting networks from this era. DATAPAC, TRANSPAC and a few others which participated in the CCITT X.25 project are certainly worth documenting. For the clones, I suggest the following facts might be of interest: name, company/country, DNIC, technology supplier, start data, shutdown date. Perhaps this should be presented in a tabular form. I inherited many network names from a previous editor. I have assumed that most of them are from the X.25 era.Rdmoore6 20:21, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
