Packing (transman)

Packing refers to the use of a small flexible phallic shaped object, which is placed in the front of a transman's pants to give the appearance of male genitals. The packer may take the form of only a penis shape or may also incorporate a false scrotum containing testicles.

Packing is commonly practised by transmen, which includes female to male transgendered people and drag kings. It is used to make male clothing hang and move correctly. This is done because the shape of clothing will typically otherwise be visibly empty and not move in the correct manner.^[1]

There are many commercially available packers made for this purpose. They generally emulate the size, shape, color and texture of the male genitals. Some incorporate a tube that is inserted into the vagina at the urethra such that the person is able to urinate through the false penis.^[2]

There is a common misconception that, because the packer is a simulation of male sex organs, it is intended for sexual purposes. This is incorrect in the case of the normal packers, which are actually soft and flexible and simulate a flaccid penis.
