Pacific Dawn Distillers is a drinks manufacturing company based in Ponsonby, Auckland, New Zealand. They produce the vodka 42 BELOW and the gin South Gin, as well as 420 mineral water and the House Quality Vodka brand Stil Vodka. The brands are owned by 42 Below Limited; a New Zealand Stock Exchange listed public company.
South Gin is flavoured with juniper berries, lemon, orange, coriander seeds, Angelica leaves, Orris, Gentian root, and two New Zealand natives, Kawakawa leaves and Manuka berries, The gin received the ‘Grand Gold with Palm Leaves’ for 2005 at the Monde Selection in Brussels rating it as the best gin in the world.
42 BELOW is a little stronger than most other vodkas. It uses a process that is closest to the grain (wheat) based vodka of Scandinavia. 42 BELOW is made from GE-free wheat. The alcoholic content is not reduced to meet government tax levels, so gets a heavier tax. The name is supposed to refer to the southern latitude where it is produced just north of Wellington on the country's 42nd parallel and also to its 42% alcohol content.

The company was floated in 2003 and since then they have expanded in many overseas markets. To date, the financial results have been quite disappointing. Pacific Dawn is a public company reporting financials. In 2005, the company lost $5,218,000 NZ on sales of $12,583,000 NZ. Based on the 2004 results, the losses have accelerated.

On September 27, 2006 Pacific Dawn said it had received a takeover offer from Bacardi Ltd at 77 cents per share, valuing the company at $138 million.
