Pacific Alaska Airways

Pacific Alaska Airways was a subsidiary of Pan American World Airways that flew routes around Alaska. The airline was eventually completely absorbed into Pan Am in 1941. The airline restarted service under its own name in the 1970s but ceased operations in 1986.

Pacific Alaska Airways was founded in 1932. On April 3, 1935, the airline flew the first air route from Juneau, Alaska to Fairbanks, Alaska. During this time period, the airline flew Lockheed L-10 Electra and Fairchild aircraft.
[edit] Fatal Accidents
- On February 16, 1975, a cargo aircraft departed Fairbanks International Airport and crashed shortly after takeoff due to a contaminated fuel supply. All three aboard died. [1]
