i was not the one that vandalized the stp page. i even put in one of those blatant vandal things, after discovering the vandalism. User:Anybody Listening?

  • Sorry if I accused you, but I don't see where you have made any edits to the Stone Temple Pilots page. There were a lot of edits going on and I may have reverted one too many edits if you were one of the anonymous users. Thanks for clarifying though! PabloMartinez 15:32, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Jaleel White

  • Excuse me, but why did you remove the no references tag, I added, to the Jaleel White article? It belongs in there, because the article has no sources and no way to verify the information. I realize he's an actor, but that alone shouldn't mean a source isn't required. Why do you think encyclopedia's have sources? So they are never sued for libel. That's why articles require a reference regardless if it's about a person or object. TripleH1976 12 June 2006 (UTC)
    • I removed it because I believed it to be referring to the whole "Urkel Is Dead" conspiracy, which was silly and I felt didn't need to be mentioned. Sorry if I was misunderstood. --PabloMartinez 13:56, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your VandalProof Application

Dear Pablomartinez,

Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact with the new 1.2 version release it has even more power. As such we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that for security reasons, VandalProof's creator requires it's users to have made 250 edits to articles, which you have not. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof.

Prodego talk 16:44, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

Well, VandalProof required it's users to have made 250 article edits, and while you have made 254 total edits, you have only made 170 article edits. I am sorry about the inconvenience, but there are other useful tools such as Lupin's popups, or VandalFighter, which have no such restriction. You may want to use them in the interim. For more info see WP:RCP. I hope this helps, Prodego talk 16:50, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
No problem. You also may be interested in VoA's admin-like tools for Vandal Fighters, or God-mode light. Both add easy rollback buttons (which revert edits faster), although I believe they both need Mozilla Firefox (it's free). Prodego talk 17:05, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sites Not Similar?

Would you please comment on why you removed Short-Media from the similar pages of both THG and AnandTech? In all actuality, this is a very similar site, being a tech website built on the knowledge base of IT professionals, containing articles of interest to the IT community, and serving as a knowledge repository. Did you ever visit the site before removing its reference? GHoosdum 18:52, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

  • While Short-Media may cover computer hardware, it is not similar in credibility to sites such as AnandTech or Tom's Hardware. Anandtech 's current traffic rank is 1,151 according to Alexa.com. Tom's Hardware's current traffic rank is 1,055. Short-media's current traffic rank is 25,865. I also notice that "GHoosdum" is the same user name that wrote the past two articles for Short-Media.com . Please note that wikipedia is not a place to promote your own personal interests, as this is considered a violation of the wikipedia spam policy.--PabloMartinez 20:24, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Please don't accuse me of being a spammer. I am personally offended, and I feel that you're pushing the boundaries of Wikipedia:Assume_good_faith with your assertion. Furthermore, I think you were mistaken when visiting Short-Media, otherwise you'd clearly see that I've never written an article for the site, I'm merely a news contributor. The articles which you saw my username appended to appeared in the "News" section and are actually articles linked to other news sources, in this case CNN and Ars Technica. I am actually a member of Short-Media, yes, but I am not spamming or shilling for the site. I was simply attempting to provide pertinent information in several articles. I personally don't feel that higher traffic rankings necessarily give a site higher credibility - the sites should be judged for the content they contain and the value they provide, rather than their traffic ranking. Thousands of people have been helped by each of the sites, and for that they deserve respect. I will give respect to you and to THG and Anandtech by not replacing the link to the S-M article, if and until a consensus is reached. 72.44.13.26 01:57, 17 June 2006 (UTC) Sorry, I responded before logging in. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, Pablomartinez! You have now been added to the list of authorized users, so if you haven't already, simply download and install VandalProof from our main page. [edit] Speedy deletion tagging

I see that you've tagged many articles for speedy deletion in the past several days, and I've also noticed that several articles you've tagged have been contested. When you're tagging articles for deletion, kindly remember to check the criteria for speedy deletion and ensure that the article is actually speediable under the part of the policy that you claim it is. And remember, when you're about to tag a page for speedy deletion, please pause for a moment and ask yourself "Does Wikipedia as an encyclopedia benefit from the inclusion of this article?" If the answer is "no," and it meets the criteria, then please tag it. Otherwise, tag it for expansion, cleanup, or wikification. Remember: all of the articles on Wikipedia started out as stubs once.--digital_me(TalkˑContribs) 20:02, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy Deletion

I strongly contest your suggestion that Cyfri'r Giefr should be deleted. This is one of the most famous of Welsh folk songs and has been recorded by major artists and choirs. What justification do you have for wanting it deleted? Having checked your contributions to Wikepedia I notice that they all appear to be edits to other people's contributions. Have you contributed any original articles yourself?

[edit] User: Oscar74 - UNFAIR USE OF SPEEDY DELETION

I have been editing Wikipedia under a different name for the last year and have written many articles. It is obvious you are over enthusiastic with your right to apply for speedy deletion on others articles. I can assure you that Tiara Bum Deeay is a worthy biographical personality for inclusion on Wikipedia. I also see I am not the only person alarmed at your arbitary use of speedy deletion. very grudged, Oscar74.

[edit] What is the reason for this edit?

You have been reported on User talk:AmiDaniel/VP/Abuse. Please find the section about you and explain why you did the actions you did. Most likely nothing serious will happen (like being banned from VP ect.) Just take in the comments and learn a bit!

There is one edit in particular I can't figure out... what article were you warning Oscar1974 for? I provided the link to the diff below. Your warning to User talk:Oscar1974

Sorry about having to bring this up... lets hope this can be resolved shortly! Eagle talk 22:53, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

To Eagle 101: I also hate people who leave inexplicit messages such as the one you linked to. But in this case the complaints were probably valid and refer to an article which had been spammed as Tiara Bum Deeay, Tiara bumdeeay and Tiara bum deeay by Oscar1974. -- RHaworth 01:47, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] speedy deletion

HI, I noticed you put many articles for speedy deletion. However I feel that it should go through the AFD instead of being tag for speedy deletion. What's your opinion. -ScotchMB 11:59, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
