PABCO Transit, Inc

PABCO Transit, Inc is a public transport company based in Dover, New Jersey and operates the Morris County Metro for New Jersey Transit. It is believed that PABCO was at one time known as Watchung Mountain Transit which operated the MCM1 and MCM2 routes. In 2001, it was believed that PABCO would assume operation of parts of Lakeland Bus Lines as a result of the lawsuit between Lakeland and NJ Transit.

[edit] MCM1/871

Route MCM1 provides service between Morristown and Willowbrook Mall via Boonton. This route once served areas along the Route 23 Corridor, but service was discontinued due to low ridership.

Route MCM2 provides service between Morristown and County College of Morris in Randolph this route has been modified several times since its inception. This route originally operated to Madison but was cut back to Morristown when the MCM3 began service. This route was further expanded to serve the Prudential (later Mack-Cali) campus in Parsippany.

The MCM3 service was at one point the western part of the #70 bus route. In 1976, Transport of New Jersey decided to discontinue the #70 between Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital, Morris Plains and Livingston Mall. The county decided to include this service in the MCM network.

[edit] MCM10/880

The MCM10 is the oldest route in the system and was once part of a trolley network. The county got involved in local bus service after the 10 was discontinued for a week. On, July 31, 2006; new schedules took effect on this route. Service is now being provided to the Marketplace at Rockaway.

  • MCM6/876: unknown, may have been used for 2001 Lakeland rebranding
  • MCM8/878: Morristown, Long Hill, and Livingston Mall, operated Thursdays only. Route was disconinued due to towns served losing rural status.
  • MCM9/879: unknown, may have been used for 2001 Lakeland rebranding
