P. T. Selbit

P. T. Selbit (1881 - 1938) was an English magician who is credited with being the first person to perform the illusion of sawing a woman in half.

In the first performance of this act in London in 1921, P. T. Selbit cut through a box that contained a woman assistant, and she emerged unharmed.

His real name was Percy Thomas Tibbles. He started out as a professional magician in 1900, and was known for inventing many illusions.
