P&O Oceana

P&O Oceana (formerly Ocean Princess) is a modified Sun class cruise ship which began operation in February 2000.

Operating for Princess Cruises, Ocean Princess entered service on February 16th, 2000. During the summer season, Ocean Princess was positioned in the Southern Caribbean, while in winter, the vessel operated in Alaskan waters.

In November 2002, Ocean Princess was transferred to P&O Cruises.The vessel entered operation in May 2003, after participating in a renaming ceremony with sister ship Adonia, and presided over by Zara Phillips, the daughter of Princess Anne. The time in between acquisition and launch was spent reconfiguring the vessel to open up an additional deck for passenger use, resulting in a corresponding increase in passenger capacity from 1,950 to 2,016.
In summer, the vessel sails from Southampton in the United Kingdom to the Mediterranean and Scandinavia. In the northern winter, Oceana births in Barbados; sailing through the Caribbean and to Central America.
