[edit] WikiProject London
Hi,
We are having an update of participation at WikiProject London and are asking contributors to bold their names if they are still contributing to London-related projects. Inactive members will be removed at the end of the month. Thanks for participating, DJR (Talk) 15:26, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Long talk page
Greetings! Your talk page is getting a bit long in the tooth - please consider archiving your talk page (or ask me and I'll archive it for you). Cheers! BD2412 T 00:21, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- Done. Sorry, hadn't noticed :o) — OwenBlacker 10:22, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] WP:Lon major tasks
-
- Hi again - I'm not sure if you have the WikiProject on your watchlist or not - if not then I would recommend adding it. In any case, we have two "Major tasks" currently operational - if you could help in the implementation of either it would be much appreciated. Regards, DJR (talk) 14:31, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Dates question
Hello, I noticed you recently made many small edits to the Requiem (Fauré) article, including wikifying all the dates. Thanks. I'm relatively new to wikipedia, so I'm not sure what the standard is, but I remember reading the WIkipedia:Manual of Style section on Wikilinking, which included the following advice: "Not every year listed in an article needs to be wikilinked. Ask yourself: will clicking on the year bring any useful information to the reader?" To me, it seems a bit overkill to link them all, but I'm interested in your take on it. I'm also unfamiliar with the language information you entered. Perhaps you could enlighten me about that or point me to an appropriate page. -- MarkBuckles 19:52, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks
Thanks for not treating me like WoW. I am editing in tabs 90% of the time with Google toolbar. GangstaEB (sliding logs~dive logs) 13:33, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
As a matter of interest, what does Firefox's Google Toolbar give you that the Google / search engine box at the top of the window not give you?
- Spell checker. --GangstaEB (sliding logs~dive logs) 13:37, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] London infobox flag (again)
Please help me out here: Template talk:Infobox London place#Flag_again. A row is brewing over using the City of London flag for this infobox. If memory serves, you supported its inclusion before. Thanks. Mrsteviec 05:43, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Template:Unverifiable-external-links
A new tfd discussion has been started because usage guidelines have been added on the template page and because the {tfd} notice was missing for most of the duration of the last discussion. Please review the recently-created usage guidelines before casting your vote. Although my delete vote remained unchanged, I would appreciate your renewed input in this discussion whether or not you agree. savidan(talk) (e@) 23:06, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- So it appears. But if you want your vote counted you should still revisit the discussion. savidan(talk) (e@) 14:20, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Featured article candidate review: Buffy article
Hi
Just letting WikiProject Buffyverse members know that the article 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' has recently been nominated as a candidate to become a featured article. Should it become a featured article, it will be possible for the article to appear on the Wikipedia main page on March 10th 2007, the 10th anniversary of Buffy (the premiere, "Welcome to the Hellmouth" aired March 10th 1997).
Any feedback you can offer to improve the article and/or to either object or support the nomination would be wonderful:

I noticed that you edited someone else's comment for clarity, spelling or grammar. As a rule, refrain from editing others' comments without their permission. Though it may appear helpful to correct typing errors, grammar, etc., please do not go out of your way to bring talk pages to publishing standards, since it is not terribly productive and will tend to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. For more details, see Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. Thanks, Extraordinary Machine 22:48, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Jon Courtenay Grimwood
The new/alt image for 9tail Fox is great - it's not like there's any real difference, after all. More importantly, you've turned the JCG page into a fantastical cover-filled library of his works. It's brilliant. You've wikilinked all the books, though, and most don't have articles.... shall I get to work? ;)
I've been meaning to write articles for the rest of his stuff for a while now. I'll do Stamping Butterflies and redRobe (as much as I can remember of them) if you rewrite my horrible, horrible edit on Jon's writing style to make it fit for human eyes - deal? Tyrhinis 18:08, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- Answered on User talk:Tyrhinis. — OwenBlacker 12:06, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- Mark redRobe one down, five to go. Once I've finished Labyrinth I'll re-read Stamping Butterflies and get an article for that going. Tyrhinis 23:30, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Dashes ?
I noticed that you changed ndashes to - in Wimund. Is that right ? I read the dashes page as saying that page numbers or years, closed ranges, should be like 10&ndash20. The 1134x1140 things shouldn't really be dashes, it's normal, but lazy, to use that to say "sometime between 1134 and 1140" as 1134x means "after 1134" and x1140 "before 1140". Probably should be written out longform in most cases. Anyway, thanks for reminding me that I never did finish rewriting either Wimund or Harald Maddadsson, so I'd better get to work ! [edit] Buffy nomination restarted
Since you have were involved with discussion before at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Buffy the Vampire Slayer, you might appreciate knowing that the nomination for the Buffy article has been restared at the same wiki page. I am letting everyone know who might not be aware (whether they were for or against the article becoming featured). Cheers -- Buffyverse 22:24, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Black Man cover (Amazon).jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Black Man cover (Amazon).jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Awyong Jeffrey Mordecai Salleh 01:43, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
The copyright status is not in question at all and is quite clearly stated on the image page itself. See your Talk: page for a reply but please try paying more attention before querying image status in future. — OwenBlacker 17:57, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Lord's prayer
Hi, OwenBlacker!
I put back a couple of words explaining an example in Norn language. I believe that it is better not to assume that the enwiki readers from all over the world must know to what Lord's prayer refers. This is a minor matter; if you disagree and remove the explanation again, I'll leave the article as you wish. JoergenB 18:43, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
