Owen Wansbrough-Jones

Sir Owen Haddon Wansbrough-Jones KBE, CB (born 1906, Long Stratton, Norfolk, England, died 1983, Long Stratton), was a leading academic chemist and soldier whose career included serving as Chief Scientist to the British Ministry of Supply.

Educated at Gresham's School, Holt, and Trinity Hall, Cambridge, he took the degrees of B.A., B.Sc., and Ph.D. at Cambridge, where he worked under Eric Rideal.

During his career in the Army and later in the Civil Service, he specialised in weapon development.
