Ovanåker is a Municipality in Gävleborg County, in east central Sweden. The municipality covers an area of 1882.2 km². Of the total population of 12491, 6298 are male, and 6193 are female. The population density of the community is 7 inhabitants per km². The municipal seat is located in Edsbyn.
