Dear Outso: Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

Wikipedians try to follow a strict policy of never biting new users. If you are unsure of how to do something, you are welcome to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator. One last bit of advice: please sign any discussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD!

  • Ah, it's an encyclopedia, not a yearbook. We have people like Einstein and Beethoven and Sun Yat-Sen and so forth. Not students. You may take your case to deletion review at WP:DRV, although if you do the only affect will be to further annoy your fellow Wikipedians. Why not use some of your excess energy and intelligence toward improving the Wikipedia? It's fun. Herostratus 03:17, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

      • Go to WP:DRV for a deletion review. This will provide you and the Wikipedia community a full chance to review my actions and restore the article if I am judged to have acted wrongly or if it would enhance the mission of the encyclopedia to restore the article. If the community believes that scholars engaged in research would be aided by the existence of the article, it may be restored. Herostratus 13:14, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
