Outer Critics Circle Award

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Begun during the 1949-1950 theater season, the Outer Critics Circle Awards are presented annually for theatrical achievements both on and Off-Broadway. The awards are decided upon by theater critics who review for media outlets outside of New York City.

The nominees are announced each April. The presentation of awards is made in late May at Sardi's Restaurant in Manhattan and precedes the Tony Awards by about two weeks.
