Situated at the heart of Ambleside, in the English Lake district, The Outdoor Family shop caters for the needs of the whole family of outdoor enthusiasts. It's run be the same guys who run the The Climbers Shop (the oldest outdoor shop in Ambleside) and therefore has a solid history of providing good kit for outdoor use.
Its got a good range of papooses for the tiny adventurer as well as loads of clothing and equipment for teenagers and adults. They stock brands like Berghaus, Animal, Vaude, Macpac, Bodge the Badger among others.
As well as selling equipment they also hire out papooses and buggies to get your young family on the move in the mountains. I've always found the staff to be highly knowledgable and approachable and they seem to want to give you the best advice possible, not just make a quick sale. I have also been able to order stuff that they don't have in stock, usually quite quickly.
