[edit] Mission statement
Our Lady of Lourdes is a co-educational archdiocesan high school which seeks to offer a rigorous college preparatory education rooted in the teachings of Jesus to a large and diverse community. Animated by the charisms of the Sisters of St. Dominic and the Marist Brothers, OLL strives to enable all students to achieve their fullest potential spiritually, intellectually, physically, and emotionally.
[edit] History
Lourdes was located at 29 North Hamilton Street in Poughkeepsie from 1958 until 1996. This building had been the Poughkeepsie High School building and now is used by Family Partnership Center, Inc.
WIth assistance from the McCann Foundation, led at the time by the late John J. "Jack" Gartland, Lourdes was able to move to its current Boardman Road location. The campus comprises a fraction of what was once Cliffdale, an estate formed by the combination of fourteen farms by Andrew Boardman circa 1870. Clarence Kenyon purchased the estate along with James E. Sague in 1909. Helen Kenyon, daughter of Clarence Kenyon, sold the property to IBM in 1944. The school moved to the current location for the start of the 1996 academic year.
