Our Lady's High School, Motherwell

Our Lady's High is a Roman Catholic secondary school located in the North Lanarkshire council area. The school roll is 650 pupils.

The school is located on Dazell Drive and the acting rector is Mr Bernard Love.

It is a 6 year secondary with a high level of education and equipped with one of the best physics departments in North Lanarkshire.

The school has a partnership with Kamowja and regularly sends pupils and staff to the region to help SCIAF in heling the local community.

The school has a highly recognisible set of school colours with purple being the primary one, and the coulour of the ties and blazers.

The four school houses consists of famous saints with ties to scotland, St Columba, St Andrew, St Margaret (Queen of scotland), and St (Margaret) Sinclair, with house colours being yellow, red, blue, and green, respectivey.

The school has an unofficial rivalry with local non-denominational Daziell High School, and although this is heavily denied, the financially dominant Daziell is beaten reguralry both academically and sports-wise.

The religious ethos of the school is heavily comended which attributes to the good-nature of the pupils and the school's standing in the local community. One example of which is the giving of christmas parcels to the local community during the festive season, and also the fundraising for SCIAF which the school supports through the period of lent.

The school band recently achieved a silver at the national concert band festival and enjoyed a trip to valkenburg, holland (2005/2006)

The school operates a system in which the last 3 weeks of the summer term are devoted to settling the pupils into the timetable for the next session, (for example: the 1st years would try their 2nd year timetables for the last few weeks)
