Oswald Mathias Ungers is a German architect from Cologne.

In 2000, he won an architectural competition to redesign the museum complex in the Muesum Island in Berlin. His plan controversially proposes large alterations to a set of buildings which have remained unchanged since 1930. The rebuilding is scheduled to begin in 2005 and end in 2010.
