Osprey Publishing is a British publishing company which specialises in publishing books of a military nature. They publish a line of popular series of small books illustrated with plates of uniforms, military aircrafts, tanks and so on.

Series published include:

  • Men-at-Arms (48 pages), with summary historical survey, and full descriptions of weapons and uniforms. 8 plates in colour.
  • Campaign (96 pages), devoted to famous battles. Full colour. Initially edited by David G. Chandler.
  • Elite (64 pages), similar to Man-at-Arms, but devoted to élite or famous military corps. 12 plates in colour.
  • Warrior (64 pages). Full description of weapons, training methods, orders of battle, etc., of the main military units in history. 12 plates in colour.
  • Aircraft of the Aces (64 pages). History of the main air units of the past. Similar to Air Elite Units. 12 plates in colour.
  • Essential histories (96 pages). In-depth analysis of main military campaigns and wars of the past. Full colour.
  • New Vanguard (48 pages). Description of tanks, siege engines, ships, etc. 8 plates in colour.
