The Osceola Ghostriders are a professional indoor football team. They are a charter member of the World Indoor Football League. They play in Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida.
[edit] History
The Ghostriders started out as an expansion team known as the Kissimmee Kreatures of the National Indoor Football League in 2005 finishing their first season with a dismal .143 win percentage (2 wins, 12 losses). Before the next season, they were purchased by Leisure Bay Industries, a company located in Orlando. Initially the team was named the Osceola Outlaws. However, because there was already a team called the Billings Outlaws in the NIFL, a dispute ensued, and NIFL forced both teams to drop the name just prior to the start of the 2006 season. As a result, Osceola played the 2006 season as Osceola Football, and eventually, Billings was recognized as the Outlaws again. Recently, Osceola announced they were joining the World Indoor Football League, and later that they would be called the Osceola Ghostriders. [1]
Osceola ended their final year in the NIFL at 8-6 and a playoff berth, but they ended up forfeiting to the Cincinnati Marshals.
