Os Tribalistas is the name of an album by Brazilian musical trio Tribalistas, consisting of Marisa Monte, Arnaldo Antunes and Carlinhos Brown.
This one-off collaboration resulted in the 13-track album "Os Tribalistas". The album was released in Brazil in late 2002 by EMI and in international territories in 2003. The album sold over a million copies in Brazil alone, reaching Number 1 on the charts there. The album also achieved considerable success in Europe; particularly in Italy, Portugal and France.
The album received five Grammy Latin Music Award nomination in 2003 (winning Best Brazilian Contemporary Pop Album), in addition to a BBC Awards for World Music nomination in 2004.
The album spawned four hit singles in Brazil: "Já Sei Namorar", "Velha Infância", "Passe em Cassa" (co-written and performed with Margareth Menezes) and "É Você". The album was such a phenomenal success that a fifth song on the album, "Mary Cristo", also received heavy radio airplay in Brazil around Christmas time of 2003. Both "Já sei namorar" and "Velha Infância" reached Number 1 on the Hot 100 Brasil charts; the former also achieving some chart success in some European territories.
A DVD release featuring the 'making of' and all the tracks on the album was also released internationally.
