Oruc Baba is a turkish name ,came from "oruc", which means "fasting" and "baba" means "father". Oruc Baba as a muslim prominent in Ottoman Empire lived in middle ages in that empires land, especially in capital Istanbul. The hint of this person is that he was fasting on a daily basis, although it is enough to be fasting one month, which named "Ramadan". Another data about Oruc Baba is that he was a extraordinary muslim with deep knowledge of islam and thus he had no interest in money purposes, so he was very poor. It is not known sure, but the poorness of Oruc Baba was so grave that he had to eat in his iftar (The meal in evening after fasting course) only a piece of bread and vinegar on it. In present too, some hundreds of people gather near the holly grave of Oruc Baba in Istanbul and eat their evening meal in Ramadan with just a piece of bread and vinegar, which they believe Oruc Baba will help them in the future.
