WP:ORBCW

Every week, an Orthodox Rabbinical Biography Collaboration of the Week will be picked using this page. It is an effort to improve existing Orthodox Rabbinical biographies on Wikipedia and create new ones, with a central aim of creating a feature-standard article during the week-long cooperative editing process. Anyone can nominate an article or vote for a nominated article.

Every Sunday, the votes are tallied and the winner will be promoted for a week to potential contributors as the Orthodox Rabbinical Biography Collaboration of the Week.

Contents

[edit] Selecting the next collaboration of the week

  • Any existing article in the Orthodox rabbis category OR any of its subcategories can be nominated.
  • Non-existent articles that would go into the above categories are also allowed, but a showing of how the proposed article would meet existing notability tests must be made at the time of nomination.

[edit] Voting

  • Please vote for as many of the following candidate articles as you like.
  • Please only add support votes - opposing votes will not affect the result as the choice is done by approval voting (the most votes, wins).
  • A candidate collaboration needs at least 3 votes in its first week to remain listed.
  • Voting indicates interest in contributing to the article during the collaboration period
  • There are no user criteria or requirements to vote.

To vote for an article:Please click on edit by the article's title, and add a new line with the text "# ~~~~". This will add your username and the time you signed automatically. Please add comments if you wish.

[edit] Tie-breakers

To keep things simple, if two or more articles have both had the same number of votes by the selection time, the article nominated first is chosen as COTF.

Comments:

  • Haredi ideologue whose thinking underpinned most of Agudath Israel's policies on Eretz Yisroel. Grandson of Samson Raphael Hirsch and brother of Joseph Breuer, author of several works (including Der Neue Kusari). Sadly his work is not readily accessible, which may explain why he still lacks an article. JFW | T@lk 15:33, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Ah, ISBN 0791402398 gives a secular perspective on his work. JFW | T@lk 15:57, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
