From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Oro is a video game character created by Capcom. He appears in the Street Fighter III series of fighting games.
[edit] Appearance
His distinguishing features are his near-total baldness, extreme age, and glowing red eyes. He also wears a simple, worn, cloth garment. He is a mysterious hermit, so very little else is known about him other than his age (he is 140 years old).
Oro is referred to as a Sennin (a hermit/recluse who are said to gain mystical powers as a result from their meditation and seclusion) by Akuma during a bout between the two at the third World Warrior tournament. He also defeats Ryu in the same tournament, after which he declares that Ryu will be ready to fight him in another fifteen years, hoping that he will be forced to use both his arms by then (see trivia below). Oro possesses tremendous physical and spiritual prowess for a man of his (or any) age, and is capable of the execution of many strange (though vastly effective) fighting techniques. Oro sees Ryu as a potential successor to his form of martial arts, after he has mastered his current style.
[edit] Trivia
- Oro typically uses only one arm in battle to suppress his abilities. He refuses to use both or risk his opponent's death. His alternate super arts, which utilize both arms, are testament to the damage that the full power of Senjitsu may cause.
- Oro's 3rd Strike title indicates that he possesses the secret to immortality.
- Storyline-wise, Oro is considered very powerful, most likely on par with Akuma and Gill.
