Ormskirk School was created in September 2001 by the amalgamation of two comprehensive schools in Ormskirk – Cross Hall High School and Ormskirk Grammar School. In September 2004 the school moved into its brand new accommodation on Wigan Road, an investment costing £16m.

[edit] Challenge Week
Challenge week was a productive week all about teamwork, improving the school and having fun. It took place between the 17th and 21st of July 2006 which was the final week of the school year. Before the week, all students were issued with a booklet documenting the different challenges, these ranged from drama productions, painting and computer modding to name a few. Challenge week was run and organised by Mr John Traynor, Deputy Headmaster.
