Orkdalen

Orkdalen is a traditional Norwegian district in Trøndelag, consisting of the municipalities of Agdenes, Hemne, Meldal, Orkdal, Skaun, and Snillfjord. The river Orkla runs through this valley.

In the early Viking Age, before Harald Fairhair, Orkdalen was a petty kingdom.
