Orion 4 is the second planned unmanned launch of the new Orion spacecraft and will conduct a rendezvous exercise with the International Space Station in anticipation of the first manned Orion/ISS mission. The mission will also allow NASA to further evaluate the Orion navigation, propulsion, and thermal protection systems.
