Orinda D. Evans

Orinda D. Evans is the chief district judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and is based in Atlanta. Evans was born in Savannah, Georgia in 1943, and graduated from Duke University in 1965. She received her law degree from Emory University in 1968, where she has also served as an adjunct faculty member. Evans was appointed to the federal bench by President Jimmy Carter in 1979, and was promoted to chief district judge in 1999.
