[edit] Welcome!

I find it strange that the red carpet hasn't been rolled out and the welcome wagon come to pay you a visit - so here goes!

Welcome!

Hello, Orderinchaos78, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

Noticed your templates; there's already ones in place and more would simply complicate and confuse the situation. Take a look at the template at Waterfall Gully, South Australia.

Enjoy your time here! michael talk 16:30, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikismile and Para Hills

I am very impressed with your work on this article, you've made it genuinely encyclopaedic. Orderinchaos78

Thank you. You've brightened my day - Cudlee creek is going well too!. Long way to go with Para Hills article yet so I really should make a talk-page to-do list - Peripitus (Talk) 08:09, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] soulseek

Hiya. Ive just created a new (and better, imo) userbox for soulseek and i thought is share it. you can look at it here. this new box allows you to share your soulseek username in the box itself. also, it adds your userpage to a category called "soulseek users". if you dont like the box but you want to be in the catergory just add [[Category: Soulseek users]]. anyhoo, just thought id let you know. -(chubbstar)talk | contrib | 06:22, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Also with vandalism, when they bite back or repeat like the Perth Convention Centre this morning, its worth knowing some admins to get em to sic em SatuSuro 05:56, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] hey

Hey,

Good work with Infobox Town AU, good idea. I cleaned it up a bit, hope you dont mind :)

--TheJosh 14:25, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Hey, In your WA work, you should start trying | LGA = [[Harvey, Western Australia|Harvey]] because then it will show as a link rather than as just text. --TheJosh 06:43, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

What do you think of my proposed changes for Infobox Town AU? I'm trying to work out how to do tabs without using javascript...tricky tricky... --TheJosh 08:23, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

I would like to add more fields but i dont know what. Also, we should continue this discussion at Infobox Town AU

[edit] DYK nomination

Hello, I would like to nominate Hamel, Western Australia, an article you wrote, to the "Did you know?" section on the main page. Could you please include a picture in the article? Thanks. Michaelas10 (T|C) 18:47, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

Updated DYK query On 12 October 2006, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Hamel, Western Australia, which you created. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

--Peta 22:23, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

It eventually did get a DYK spot. Congrats! Michaelas10 (T|C) 22:29, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks guys! :) [1] Orderinchaos78 (t|c) 13 October 2006 (UTC)

That your persistent and tireless energy in working on country towns in wa hasnt gone un-noticed. Some editors give others 'barnstars', however....

Well done SatuSuro 03:13, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Much appreciated. (For future reference - how does one give them out?) Orderinchaos78 03:50, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Check this page out - Wikipedia:Barnstars, personally its just a bit too that place - cultural hegemony for me (as In Radio Peking in the 1970's used to talk about A... Cultural Imperialism) I think that someone should invent an australian Black Stump award, or a Stubby award or for some of the places we know - the "lake disappointment dingo pelt of the century award", perhaps "whim creek perpetual trophy for left hand corners", maybe the "Hamelin Bay Jetty Wind Shear perpetual trophy" or the "Bluff Knoll backwards climb blindfolded perpetual trophy", "the cocklebiddy kite flying club's prize" - cripes I once got a pewter mug from the "Queenstown (Tasmania) Amateur Dramatic Society" I mean anythings possible - but I dunno, I think the jury's probably all gone to lunch on those ones.... SatuSuro 05:25, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Long after I wrote this I realised it could be very easily misunderstood - my apologies - it wasnt meant to demean the hard work that youve done - something else. SatuSuro 12:34, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template Infobox Australian Place Bot

Hey, Dont worry about altering fields for templates to be made obselete, the bot can manage all of that, if we make one. --TheJosh 07:12, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

The best thing to do would to get those yucky ones into a template of some description, but dont worry about the perth ones, i can just make a conversion rule for it and volia! Our edit rate would be about 1 per 30-60 secs to that would take like 15mins vs an hour or 2 to do manually...

[edit] Wooran, New South Wales

I saw where you prodded the article. What, exactly, is a "homestead" in Australia? Is it basically some guy's house in the middle of nowhere? Is it like a small town? youngamerican (ahoy hoy) 23:59, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

I learn something new everyday. Thanks. youngamerican (ahoy hoy) 03:07, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Albert Facey

Noticed that you did something on him - did you klnow one of the two Mundaring shire libraries was named after him as well? SatuSuro 12:59, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Also a bit of a long shot - the locality might have been named after the family that ross mclarty (1950's premier) married into: -

just a suggestion SatuSuro 13:31, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Yeah the lack of info about that locality is a bit puzzling! Thanks for the ref - I'll be at the Battye tomorrow so I might check that one out. And nice to see someone's checking up on my work :D Orderinchaos78 15:10, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
Gawks you've found one of my oldest big articles to improve which needs heaps (Darling Scarp) - the range regio9nal park shows up on signs around here in the hills - but when I had communcns with the person in calm now dec some years ago - it was all nebulous and maybe was going to have a collective name of regional park with the component parks with new names - poetentially very confusing. The Tassie equivalent that I have been working on - west coast range is at least a bit more advanced - but both needs lots of work. sigh SatuSuro 23:58, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
Yeah I know! CALM's own site is pretty ambiguous about the park as it is now. I live in the leafy (!?) northern suburbs so I don't get to see much of that side of town. Was just looking up Ensign Dale for the Beverley article and hit that one and Mount Dale, and made minor fixes to both. :) Oh and re prev message (thought I had replied!) - no offence was taken, although I wasn't entirely sure what you meant at first! hehe have a good one. [edit] Captains Flat edits

I assume just a copy and paste error but this town is hardly in WA! Need to updateinfor box to Palerang. Are you aware of the infobox discussion at Template talk:Infobox Australian Place - there has been to date no agreed standard?--Golden Wattle talk 22:26, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
