Oracle Applications

Oracle Applications refers to the non-database parts of Oracle Corporation's software business, mainly web-based accounting software. Oracle has many applications built around the Oracle RDBMS system. The most well-known of these are the Oracle Financial applications. Oracle also offers many more applications including Oracle Office, Oracle Media Server, and Oracle ConText.
Although Oracle applications started primarily with financials, their offering now extends into Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management, Call Center services, Product Lifecycle Management, and any others.
The current version of Oracle Application is 11.5.10 with release 12i expected early 2007.

Oracle provides a rich set of financial applications used extensively in businesses around the world. These applications are sometimes known collectively as Oracle Financials. The Oracle Financials application set is built around the Oracle RDBMS and includes applications such as Oracle Human Resources, Oracle Payroll Oracle Payables, Oracle Receivables, Oracle General Ledger, Oracle Assets, Oracle Inventory, Oracle Order Entry, Oracle Purchasing, Oracle Bills of Material, Oracle Engineering, Oracle Master Scheduling, Oracle Work in Progress, Oracle MRP, Oracle Capacity, Oracle Project Costing, and Oracle Project Billing.
These applications are used to run many of the world’s mission-critical businesses. They are available on most platforms.
