Optibo is the product of a collaboration by various Swedish firms to provide a solution to the current problems facing the housing industry.

This joint research project has led to the construction of an apartment building which is only 25 square meters, or 270 square feet. The single-room living space has the furniture build into the floor, and the room can be turned from a bedroom, to a living room, to a dining room, and back. The kitchen area is affixed to the wall and does not change. Optibo's main architect was inspired while taking part in a Christmas tradition of his native Sweden, where families gather around the TV to watch Disney cartoons before Christmas Eve dinner. He saw Mickey's Trailer, in which Mickey Mouse had a similar living arrangement, and was thus inspired.
