Talk:OpenIT

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I am still waiting on Michael for help with the article; however, it has been completely rewritten to address its short falls. I am deleting the Aug 15th notice ...I think I'm supposed to do that...anyway, more improvements are coming

After some parusal of Wiki guidelines and other similar articles, I have overhauled mine to comply with NPOV and added the links to verify what is stated in an "External Links" section. I need some more time to gather the data required for notibility requirements. However, I believe when Michael gets a moment, he can help me fill in the gaps.

Unfortunately, this is not self-promotion, but OpenIT differentiation. I authored this page and I gain nothing from OpenIT's use or development. My employees developed OpenIT and since that time, there has developed a company called openit. If anything, I intended to promote a lack of confusion between the two instances of "OpenIT" appearing on the web. By promoting understanding, I feel this article is in keeping with the intent of an encyclopedia. Given the medium (ie. the web), differentiating between two OpenIT's seems relevant. Although I threw in a complement to my lead programmer, Michael Schurter, this information is also typically shared in the open source community. People want to know who is working on what...it is a community. Finally, in a legal sense, the OpenIT article has "precidence." Please review a wiki search for 'student information system' This is shameless commercial self promotion: . Our company's primary product that pays for projects like OpenIT is a student information system. We are not listed here. This article reads like a press release from Pearson! With a few small competitor s thrown in to make it seem legit.

If you like, edit out the Michael Schurter comment and add a description of the the commercial "Open iT." Deletion is not warrented.

Here is a start: "Open iT is an international software company with offices in Houston, TX , Silicon Valley, CA, Oslo and Stavanger, Norway. Open iT makes system software that optimizes IT resources (particularly software) for our multinational customers who operate large, complex networks."
