Operation Vulture

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Operation Vulture was the name of the proposed American operation that would rescue French forces at Dien Bien Phu in 1954 via B-29 raids. The French garrison had been surrounded by the communist and nationalist Viet Minh during the French Indochina War. However, the proposition for the operation was not accepted and the French garrison was shortly overrun afterwords. (See Battle of Dien Bien Phu).
