OpenWikiNG is an OpenSource project that use the original OpenWiki code as base to develop a new generation OpenWiki.

Last release of OpenWiki was in 2002, and since then many devlopers have added and tweaked the codebase. The additions are often posted on the OpenWiki website as add-on code for users to integrate into OpenWiki.

In june '04 Project OpenWikiNG started and the project aims to produce a distribution of OpenWiki that has most of these 'add-ons' already integrated, as well as other enhancements.

In november '05 www.openwiking.com got online. Now most information about the project is at one place.

The first priority is to release an Alpha version for the general public to use and test. The project is always open to new developers and ideas.
