Opel Admiral was a car made by the German car maker Opel.

The first Admiral was introduced in 1937 as an attempt to challenge large luxury cars from Horch, Mercedes-Benz and Maybach. It was availible as a 4 door sedan or cabriolet. The car was equipped with a 3,6 litre straight 6 with a top speed od 132 km/h. The production of the Admiral was cancelled in 1939 when the Opel factory started producing war material.

In 1964 Opel introcued the KAD (Kapitän, Admiral, Diplomat) models. KAD was a group name for these three large Opels. The car was equipped with a 2,6 litre straight-6 with a top speed of 155 km/h. In 1965 the engine was upgraded to a 2,8 litre there was also a 4,6 litre V8 availible from 1965.

The Admiral B was introduced in 1969 together with the new Kapitän and Diplomat. The Kapitän was killed of in 1970 but the Admiral and the Diplomat lived on until 1977 when they were replaced by the Senator.
