[edit] Xeno?

Could someone explain what xeno means? (Context "17.400.000 xeno units per second")

It's a unit of measure for light waves reflected off of the moon
I think it was made up for the series --Phred Levi 21:18, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Images

Doesn't this article have too many images relative to its text? The first two pictures in particular are very much alike. How about we keep one picture of a normal Oozaru and one image of a Golden Oozar? Sinistro 08:32, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I was thinking that, too, though I thought they showed a neat comparison of changing style.... or something... --Phred Levi 10:08, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Made some changes.

I added the kanji for Oozaru, and fixed the description of the transformation ("Zeno" or "Xeno" is a measure of the amount of "Bruits Waves," a fictional type of radiation emitted by moon-reflected sunlight). The Viz Media translation, which the original author used, is inaccurate when it comes to this description.--Julian Grybowski 28 June 2005 22:35 (UTC)

[edit] About Golden Oozaru

"It is attained by Saiyans who have a tail and are already in the Super Saiyan form before looking at a full planetary body (sunlight reflected from a planet apparently works equally well, as Son Goku used the "full Earth" to transform)."

Just a cotton-pickin' minute here, looking at a planet is the same as looking at 'sunlight reflected from a planet'. You can't see what doesn't have sunlight bouncing off of it... like.. duh. The only reason we make the distinction of 'sunlight' for the moon is that saying 'moonlight' sounds nutty.

This article contains to mention of weather or not the oozaru is capable of using ki based attackes suck as a kamehameha or gallick gun while transformed can they or just the fire breathing and mouth blasts.-user:Freez

"# In Dragon Ball GT, Oozaru gain the ability to breath fire. (A flashback shows regular Oozaru also breathing fire, so this ability cannot be attributed to the Golden Oozaru form) Bebi Vegeta also shows the ability to use all the ki based attacks he could if he weren't transformed." Doesn't that count? --Phred Levi 08:46, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Yes but i mean a normal oozaru firing blasts from the hands eyes something like that particulary the hands-user:Freez

Is the minor change I made good with the rest of you? It's about how a Saiyan achieves the Golden Oozaru form. I put that they need to have already become a Super Saiyan and have a tail using light from a full planetary body. This was changed from a Saiyan being in the SSJ form with a tail and transforming. I geuss Im just being picky but Goku was in his normal state prior to transforming (so was Vegeta before he went SSJ4). Goku transformed into a regular Oozaru and then shifted into the Golden Oozaru form (kind of a SSJ Oozaru metamorphisis which makes perfect sense). - Maphisto86 2:07, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] What?

"Additionally, saiyans in Oozaru form appear to lose their ability to fly, are slower, and less agile."

This is clearly not true. When Vegeta transformed in episode 24, he was clearly able to fly, and Goku commented multiple times on how incredibly fast and agile he was, despite being so huge. In The Tree of Might, Oozaru Gohan is extremely fast and agile. If nobody objects, I will remove this line soon.PiccoloNamek 22:54, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

I was thinking of addressing this but Im glad someone else noticed it too. I thought I was the only Dragonball nutjob here ;). Anyway that is perfectly true since also in Dragonball GT (yeah I know...non-canon but...) Vegeta-Bebi is able to fly as a Golden Oozaru and both he and Goku move quite fast in this state although it seems as if one can only fly as an Oozaru if they can retain their own consciousness rather than a primal instinct. If you wish you can and should remove it or write something more accurate about it. Maphisto86 17:00, 13th of June 2006 (UTC)

  • I am going to take the liberty of removing this part of the article. I may write in the 'Abilities' part that Oozaru's with training can fly though Im not quite an expert on that. I can't remember the old manga's and episodes of the anime. Maphisto86 22:54, 14th June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bio-Oozaru?

There is a section in the article about a Bio-Oozaru. I read it, and it seems to me like something made-up by a fan. I've never heard of this before and it seems kind of stupid to me, no offense to the person who posted it. I'd like to see some proof, just because it sounds so far-fetched. Another thing, Bio-Oozaru isn't listed as one of Broly's forms.KojiDude 20:17, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

  • Yeah I didn't really think about it that much... but how can you explain Broly becoming giant? True it is a fan theory but it is concievable. Brolly did have a tail and I cannot think of any other reason he just turned giant like that. Oh and I didn't write it by the way I just think it is plausable. Maphisto86 22:52, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
I guess you're right. Just wanted to make sure nobody was pulling a prank or something. By the way, should we list Bio-Oozaru in Broly's Transformations now then?KojiDude 13:06, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
First and foremost, in order to transform into Oozaru a moon or planetary body must be present to gaze at, which weren't at the time Bio-Broly reemerged from the sea as a giant. Second of all, a Saiyan must have a tail in order to transform into an Oozaru, which was mostly mutated by the bio-liquid. Third of all, the cloned Broly's genetic composition was messed with in order to create him. To add on to this would be the fact that he was even more mutated once the bio-liquid became corrosive. See Bio-Broly again here to understand what I'm talking about. And last but certainly not least is the fact in which all Dragon Ball information is based upon, Broly as well as the movies are considered to be Non-Canon to the series but more specifically, the manga.-3bulletproof16 04:14, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
        • True well get rid of it if you want... I watched the film and it's really strange how he turns giant. Maphisto86 2:42, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Next time a questionable contribution is added or changed by an IP address, try looking through other contributions the IP has made. If they are usually reverted because the IP vandalized a page, added his POV onto the article or information without a valid source supporting his edit, then there is a good chance the questionable information is probably fake.-3bulletproof16 07:08, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Weather Conditions?

I was wondering if weather conditions would effect the transformation. Like, if it was storming or cloudy on the night of a full moon would the Saiyan still transform? I'm no scientist so I don't know if moon radiation travels through clouds or something, so maybe it should be mentioned that it needs to be a clear night. Also, in Conditions for Transformation, it says that only the moon can generate 17,000,000 zeno units, when the article 3 paragraphs under it states that a kamehameha could do the same thing. I'll fix it myself if nobody has any objections (although the bio-broly movie is non-canon so it might not really apply, but the article also talks about Tullece alot, he's non-canon too).KojiDude 13:07, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Well ignore the Bio-Oozaru post because it's not even partly canon. It's just a fan rumor. The stuff about Tullece that I put down is canon to the movies as it is all stated or shown. The Bio-Oozaru theory is not canon to the movie itself. Bio-Broly just turns giant for no reason... it's plausable that he transformed but since it is not stated or shown without a doubt I wouldn't bother mentioning it in this article. As for the question about a full moon showing through clouds Im pretty sure that the Saiyan has to be able to see the light from the full moon (or planet) to be able to transform. Maphisto86 13:32, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
Yeah. Since moonlight is just reflected sunlight, and sunlight can be blocked by clouds (partially), then moonlight would be blocked just as easily (if not more so, since it is weaker than sunlight). Try going out at night sometime when there's clouds covering the moon and see how dark it is. There's no moonlight showing through the clouds, and thus, the requirement for Oozaru transformation would be unavailable.
Daishokaioshin 17:49, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
And doesn't Vegeta say they have to absorb the energy through their eyes? That's why they a full moon can't just be present. They have to look at it too. Obscuring the moon would hinder that. What I want to know is if obscuring the moon would screw up the change after it's been made. Obviously destroying the moon does. Onikage725 22:37, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Well, when Tullece destroys the Power Ball he says Gohan would stay transformed for a little longer. Obscuring the moon would most likley have the same affect.KojiDude 22:41, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
While I agree, it is best to remember that Tullece, and the movie he is in, are non-canon, and thus we can't just accept things stated therein as being true. In the canon episodes, all we know for sure is that Vegeta didn't blow up the Moon Burst after transforming because he didn't think he'd need it anymore. Obviously he still required the artificial moon light provided by his technique to retain his transformation. Maybe he was just waiting to make sure that he had beaten his opponents before destroying it, or maybe the "keeping the transformation for no reason" thing is just a movie phenomenon. Once again: It makes sense that it would take time for the chemicals being produced in a Saiyajin's tail gland from exposure to full moon light to stop being produced, or for their effects to stop being felt, and thus the reversion from Oozaru may indeed be delayed even when the moon is covered by clouds or other things. I just don't trust non-canon sources for viable information.
Daishokaioshin 23:20, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Hm, true. Unlike destroying the moon, obscuring it doesn't negate the moonlight. It would still be there, just in lesser degree. So maybe that small ambient amount could hold the change for a time. now that I think about it, it's not exactly like one has to spend the entire transformation staring up at the moon (though the change back is pretty swift in the case of the moons utter destruction). Onikage725 23:29, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
But it is sated that there has to be 17,000,000 zeno units of radiation to trasnform. If the clouds lessended the amount of moonlight and/or radiation there simply wouldn't be enough to transform completley or hold the transformation. Though I don't think that the Oozaru would change back right away if the moon was covered by clouds after he trasnformed.KojiDude 00:22, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Oozaru vs. Freeza

all Saiyan ozarus combined would certainly have the power to destroy Frieza why was it never tried Dragon Emperor 05:16, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Actually, even if Vegeta had gone to fight Freeza when he still had his tail, instead of going to Earth, his powerlevel was only 18,000 at the time. If he had become an Oozaru, his powerlevel would have been 180,000. Far less than Freeza's 530,000 in first form. Nappa was even weaker, around 40,000 in Oozaru form, if you go by the Daizenshuu. So even if you could somehow combine the powerlevels of Oozaru, 220,000 would not be enough to beat Freeza even without him transforming.
If you meant when the Saiyajin were still alive, before the destruction of Planet Vegeta, there was still no one strong enough to be a threat to Freeza as an Oozaru, since everyone was even weaker at that point.
Also, up until the point where Freeza destroyed Planet Vegeta, and even for years after, the Saiyajin were loyal to Freeza, and had no reason to try to fight him, as Oozaru, or otherwise.
Daishokaioshin 05:56, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Now what if Raditz at 12,000 and bardock at 160,000 joined in if all of them combined and the rest of the saiyans in oozaru as well THAT would be it unless he transformed Dragon Emperor 06:14, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Uhh... Raditz was barely over 1,200, and there is no way in hell that Bardock was 160,000. He was strong but not that strong. Best estimates put him in the 20,000 range before he died, but we don't know for certain. All we know is that he was weaker than Prince Vegeta (the strongest Saiyajin of the time) until after his stint in the rejuvenation tank, and even then there's no evidence that he was necessarily stronger than Vegeta. It's all just fan speculation. And you don't seem to get it. Even if a hundred Saiyajins with powerlevel of 100,000 in Oozaru form attacked Freeza, they'd still be 430,000 weaker than Freeza as individuals. The only way to combine powerlevels is Fusion, and none of the Saiyajin knew the Fusion technique, thus preventing them from having their powerlevels "combined".
Daishokaioshin 06:25, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Yeah Freiza woulda friggin dominated the saiyans.KojiDude 03:07, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

Are you saying Dai that if my powerlevel is 1,000,000 and yours is 90,000,000 and we fused are identities are powerlevel would be 91,000,000

[edit] Pictures

The Baby Crushing Goku picture should stay out. It's not visually informative at all. The Golden Oozaru Vegeta pic is a full body shot, and we can't have both, there isn't room. (Also please don't move the pictures around like that, especially without using the preveiw button)--KojiDude 04:43, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, what was there was enough, I'm not sure why there's now all these other pictures... --Phred Levi 05:29, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

I don't think there are too many pictures. One picture per section is alright. Look at many featured articles and they include more pictures then in this article. --Maphisto86 01:12, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

Incidentaly, here's all the pictures we have to work with: Editor's note: You cannot use fair-use images outside of articlespace --Improv 03:00, 14 October 2006 (UTC) I guess I got carried away with the screen caps, I suppose in the end the decent 3 series comparision of the first the images, and the video game image are good enough --Phred Levi 04:47, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] King Piccolo picture

What's nn about it? It illustrates something that's hard to decribe and unique to one event. It's not violating the fair use rational either. (Not trying to start an argument or get on people's nerves, I'm just curious)--KojiDude (Contributions) 04:36, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

I took it away because it didn't seem important. If it is, put it back.--Atomic-Super-SuitWhat Have I Done?! 04:55, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
Well, I'd like to have some kind of consenseus before I do. Unless you removed it without really thinking too much about it and made kind of a rash decision? I'll wait a while and see if anyone else has anythign they want to say.--KojiDude (Contributions) 05:01, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
I like it --Phred Levi 05:09, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
I have a suggestion, again, why not put it on the King Piccolo page?--Atomic-Super-SuitWhat Have I Done?! 05:11, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
Why not put it in the Dragon Ball Z: Sagas page? -- bulletproof 3:16 14:00, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
I think it's better to have it here, scince it illustrates the use of the semi-transparant Oozaru. It'd work here because this article is about, well, Oozaru. There's a much better screencap of right after Goku pierces King Piccolo, with the red back ground and everything. That'd be a better version to put on the Daimao page.--KojiDude (Contributions) 21:53, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 10x multiplier????????????????????

Are yu sure Vegeta meant it literally when he said that, it increases, the dialog was YOU SEE KAKKAROTT WHEN A SAIAN TRANSFORMS HIS POWER INCREASES !) FOLD FROM THE LIGHT OF THE FULL MOON HIGH IN THE SKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe he was just talking the way a 3 foot tall person, might say to a 6 foot tall person your ten times my size, it is not literal, it is just to express how massive their height difference is. This is the implication I get!!!

Frieza-Bomber 02:06, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Yes, we're sure. "Power" is not another term for "size", and 6 feet is not ten times 3 feet.
Daishokaioshin 06:55, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
You can never tell with size, even in one episode, an Oozaru's size compared to other characters keeps changing. Inconsistancy —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Phred (talkcontribs) 17:00, 7 December 2006 (UTC).
