Ontario Tourist Routes

Ontario has several Tourist Routes, throughout the province, showing places of cultural, environmental, or social importance.

It is currently unknown if the majority of these trails are still listed since many of the provincial highways of ontario were downloaded in 1997 and 1998, as the Tourist Trails followed the provincial highways for the majority fo their length, although they did travel along county roads and municipal/local streets as well. Although many municipalities, cities, and counties still sign these tourist routes, others may have chose to discontinue them with the highways they followed, rendering them as historical footnotes. If you intend on driving along one of these routes, please bring an up-to-date road map, as these routes may not be listed. Routes that are still signed are specified.

Frontier Route	Manitoba-Ontario Boundary	Highway 400 in Barrie	Unknown. Travels along Kings Highway 17 to Nipigon, then along Highway 11 to its southern terminus in Barrie.
Golden Highway
Great River Road	Kenora, Ontario (with the main branch going through Fort Frances, Ontario and along Secondary Highway 502 to Dryden, Ontario)	Dryden (Main branch), Rainy River, Ontario (secondary branch)	Unknown, but most likely still signed.
Heritage Highway	Niagara Falls, Ontario	Gaspe, Quebec, with an offshoot along Kings Highway 3 to Windsor, along Highway 11 to Sault Sainte Marie, Ontario, and along Former Kings Highway 2, sharing the entire Loyalist Parkway route.	Signed concurrently with the Loyalist Parkway and Frontier Routes. Also has a spur along former Kings Highway 18 from Windsor to Leamington, Ontario.

Voyageur Route	Kenora, Ontario	Fort Frances, Ontario	Unknown. Only one sign remains posted on Highway 17, at a section which is not even a part of this route.

Wine Route	Windsor, Ontario	Fort Erie, Ontario	Still signed in Essex County. Wine Route has many different sections, therefore...it is many different routes in itself.
Lake Erie Circle Tour	Windsor, Ontario	Fort Erie, Ontario	Ontario supposedly did not take part in the Lake Erie Circle Tour, but some signs are still found around the Windsor and La Salle, Ontario areas, and on Former Kings Highway 3 between Leamington, Ontario and Wheatley, Ontario.
