[edit] Computers
This user has many, many computers. Well, not that many, but more than the average person. He has (or had), in (approximate) chronological order of production (but not necessarily obtaining):
- A Mac LCIII (unnamed) from April 1993. It is currently in pieces in the basement.
- 25MHz m68k processor
- Approx. 170MiB hard drive
- A Power Macintosh (unnamed) obtained through his school (running Mac OS 9). He can't remember what model it is, but it's one of those grey towers. Probably a 8500. It's also in pieces in the basement.
- A Dell Dimension XPS D300 (familyroom) from 1996 or so, which eventually kicked the bucket and was cannibalized. The processor is in a different computer (which, technically, doesn't belong to me), and pretty much everything else is either in vulpes, a drawer, or was trashed (the case, power supply and motherboard).
- A Dell Dimension XPS R450 (vulpes) which was originally his brother's, and is now functioning primarily as a print server running Debian Linux 3.1
- 450MHz Pentium II processor
- A Sony VAIO PCG-GRX570 (name forgotten) from April 2002 which broke twice (once at Death Valley), the latter time supposedly because of a "broken logic board" (which just shows that the people who were looking at it were uncertified) and was eventually trashed (the hard drive was salvaged, but got rusted when a pipe leaked).
- 1.6GHz Mobile Pentium 4 M processor
- 40GiB hard drive
- ATI Mobility Radeon 7500
- A Dell Inspiron 8600 (xander) from March 2004 which is, more or less, a piece of trash, but is still used. It's running Windows XP SP1 (SP2 will never touch its hard drive!) and often has dual-monitors.
- 1.6GHz Pentium M processor
- 60GiB hard drive
- 512MiB RAM
- ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 Pro Turbo
- A custom built desktop (zerda) from September 2005 running openSUSE 10.1 and functions primarily as a server.
- A Sony Vaio SZ 140 (pardus) from early 2006 running Windows XP SP2.
