Onesiphorus (name meaning "bringing profit") was a Christian of Ephesus who showed St. Paul great kindness while he was in Rome; he served him in much, and refreshed him often. Paul expresses an interest both in him and in his household in his Second Letter to Timothy, first in 1:16 and again in 4:19.
