Oneida Baptist Institute

Oneida Baptist Institute also referred to as OBI, is a coeducational Southern Baptist boarding school in Oneida, Kentucky. Land for the school was donated in September 1899 by Martha Coldiron Hogg and S.P. Hogg. The school was founded as the Mamre Baptist College, and commenced operation on January 1, 1900. The name was changed to Oneida Baptist Institute on October 29, 1904. The school has a diverse student body, with approximately half of the students coming from Kentucky, 40% from other parts of the United States, and the remaining 10% being International.
The school was founded by James Anderson Burns in an effort to end feuding among families in the area. It is affiliated with the Kentucky Baptist Convention. Barkley Moore became president of the Institute in the early 1970s, and expanded the school's mission to include children from outside the area. Moore died in 1994. The current headmaster is Dr. W. F. Underwood.

- Bert T. Combs, (August 13, 1911 - December 4, 1991), born in Manchester, Clay County, Kentucky, was the Democratic Governor of Kentucky from 1959 through 1963.
- Jen-Hsun Huang founder of NVIDIA Corporation (was accidentally sent to the school by recent immigrant parents, who thought the school was a prep school.)
