"One After 909" is a Beatles song. It was written by John Lennon in The Beatles' early days but was not officially released until it was included on the 1970 album Let It Be. It was re-released on Let It Be... Naked. An early attempt at recording the song (from 1963) was included on Anthology 1. Also, the video The Beatles Anthology's episode 1 featured a recording of the song made in 1960.
The recording of the song included on Anthology 1 was from a session at Abbey Road Studios on March 5, 1963, and is also included on a compilation of takes published in 1995. Also recorded on the same day were "From Me to You" and "Thank You Girl". The attempt made on March 5th failed as the group did not get the middle section of the song right.
Each version of the song is representative of The Beatles changing styles, with the 1963 recording based on a simple Rickenbacker-esque 12-bar structure with few lead parts other than Harrison's solo in the middle. The 1969 recording is much heavier, with Harrison playing lead riffs throughout.
