One-eyed jack

A one-eyed jack is, in a standard deck of cards, the jack of spades or the jack of hearts, both of which are seen in profile (and thus only one eye is seen). The king of diamonds is also usually one-eyed. The popularity of cards and the somewhat macabre nature of the phrase have led to its use in popular culture.
