The first single "Animal I Have Become" was released March 31, 2006. The song "Pain" was released as a single in September 2006, and "Over and Over" followed up as the third single.

Before One-X was released the band previewed some numbers from the upcoming album on several occasions. They played four of the new songs, including "Animal I Have Become" and "Never Too Late" at the H.O.P.E. Volleyball SummerFest in Ottawa in July 2005. "Animal I Have Become" was released as a single and received a lot of airplay before it was released with One-X.

Previews for four of the tracks on One-X can be found on Three Days Grace's Online Trading Cards. Tracks that can previewed are "It's All Over", "Pain", "Never Too Late" and "Over And Over". [1]

On June 3, 2006, the album was leaked on Peer-to-peer and BitTorrent sites worldwide.

A first-run pressing (currently out of print) sold at Target stores in the U.S. contains the exclusive bonus track "Running Away". The track is even listed on the back of the CD packaging as a bonus track for this version. The retail CD seal even lists the disc as "ONE-X (ENHANCED/TARGET VERSION)" with a UPC code of 828768657621.
