OnClassical is a small independent record label based in Bassano del Grappa, Italy. It features classical music only, mostly for piano or chamber ensemble.

Founded in 2004 by Alessandro Simonetto, pianist and sound engineer, it "enrols" its own featured musicians, carefully selected from amongst the best in the international field who do not hold an exclusive contract with a manager or a traditional recording house. Contracts with OnClassical, in any case, remain non-exclusive and non-onerous.

OnClassical is the first label of its kind to produce, realize, distribute and sell recordings online. The recordings are made with particular care, capturing only natural sounds which are not successively manipulated. As of April 2006 OnClassical has published 24 CDs (called collections) with some world first recordings such as the complete Album für die Jugend by Robert Schumann of 70 pieces (instead of the traditional 43), and others.

All available music is protected under the Creative Commons - Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 - license. All files are encoded in high quality MP3 and OGG vorbis formats (superior or equal to 192 Kbps, at variable rate). All artists earn 50% from profits given to downloadings of their albums.

Visibility of the onclassical.com site is greatly enhanced thanks to the contribution of traffic generated by the kunstderfuge.com free site, which is a large (probably largest) resource for free midi files of classical music.
