[edit] Description
Published by Commodore International, Omega Race was a version of the classic arcade cabinet game by Midway. It came in a cartridge which fitted neatly in to the Vic 20's expansion slot. The aim of the game was to fly around the screen in any direction you wished shooting alien craft, the player could bounce or employ the use of a thruster to either move more quickly or to get out of trouble. More skillfull players could bounce off the perimeter of the gaming area to help them avoid enemy craft or mines. During the gameplay the background tune increased in tempo to alert the play that one of the ships would change into a ship which could also freely roam around the screen whilst laying mines.
[edit] Trivia
